After watching the Pete Rose interview in which he admits to gambling, ABC News invited viewers to send emails to the Hit King, some of which he will answer tomorrow on Good Morning America.
This is the email that I sent.
"Pete, you were, and still are, my boyhood hero. I think that you have owned up to your mistake, but wish it had happened earlier. I feel that baseball betrayed you to an extent and then turned its back on you.
That being said, there is a perception that your admission is only being made to make yourself money on your new book. Would there be any consideration to giving the proceeds to a charity, even if just a portion? Perhaps even a charity that assists gamblers with their addiction. I think that would send a very sincere message to baseball and to your critics.
