I have made a decision to pursue learning about open-source technologies. Not stuff like Java, which I don't really consider to be open-source, but PHP, mySQL and Apache. I figure that this is the place to begin at least. After that, who knows what I'll move towards. Learning PHP is a good thing. It's teaching me server-side scripting and some programming methodology, and all of the server-side technologies work basically the same, so it's knowledge that will carry over.
